Описание: Living Reefs Foundation's Blue Barrier Project: Using corals as a nature-based approach to coastal protection strengthens artificial breakwaters, turning them into a live and growing coastal barrier over time. This pilot study by LRF targets a boulder barrier protecting the Causeway, a 1 km bridge linking the airport to most of Bermuda. Funded by the UK government through a Darwin Plus Local award, Bermuda-based corporate (QBE charitable Foundation, @Conduitre) and private donors, it is a first step to the sustainable protection of our shores against increasing storm frequency and strength. Thanks to our partner, Tritonia Scientific (UK) for generating the video from our high resolution photogrammetry model.
