Yo guys, in this video I am visiting the biggest market in Oaxaca the Central de Abastos. The real reason I wanted to go to this market was that I wanted to try the famous Memelas at Dona Vale. Memelas, also known as memelitas, are fried or toasted cakes made of masa topped with different fresh ingredients eaten as antojitos or snacks in the states of Guerrero, Oaxaca and Puebla, Mexico, which has its origins in prehispanic food. Valentina Pacheco, better known as Doña Vale, has a stall deep in Oaxaca’s Mercado de Abastos, making memelas and other antojitos from her hand made masa on her comal. After 30 years, she has become an Oaxaca legend. And if you ask me for my honest opinion, they were REALLY good. So I can highly recommend going there. Anyway, after having those Memelas I wanted to explore the market further and had a really strange encounter with guy...
