Deosai is the combination of two words Deo and sai "Deo mean giant" and sai mean shadow"Deosai is accessible by skardu district from the North. Gultari kharmang district from the South-East and the Astore district from the West. Deosai is located 30 kilometer away from Skardu city and it is the shortest route to reach Deosai most of the foreigners visit Deosai from Skardu and it takes an hour to reach on the top through Sadpara Skardu.
