Описание: Islamabad: A debate has erupted in the country regarding the creation of new provinces, as an economic think tank has proposed three scenarios for administrative structure reforms.
In the first scenario, 12 provinces are suggested; in the second, 15 to 20 smaller provinces; and in the third, 38 federal divisions.
According to the Economic Policy and Business Development think tank, the existing administrative structure has failed to bridge the gap in regional economic development, with Pakistan’s current system being much larger compared to global standards.
The think tank stated that vast population differences among provinces are causing major problems, with widening gaps in poverty, unemployment, and education levels.
