1 liter of ice-cold water
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Walnuts: Grind the walnuts in a food processor or chop them finely. Toast them in a pan over medium heat for about 10 minutes until they darken slightly, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
2. Sauté the Onions: In a suitable pot, heat some oil and sauté the chopped onions until they are soft and golden.

4. Add the Walnuts: Stir in the toasted walnuts and mix well.

6. Add Water: Pour in 1 liter of ice-cold water.
7. Season: Add salt, black pepper, and saffron to the mixture.
8. Cook the Stew: Reduce the heat and let the stew simmer for 2 to 3 hours, allowing the flavors to meld. Add the sugar halfway through cooking.
9. Serve: Serve the stew with saffron rice and enjoy the rich flavors.
Tips:
Using ice-cold water helps the stew thicken better.
