In this video we will see how to make Pepper Garlic Rasam Recipe, which is a great recipe from south India. It is great because it not only tastes great but is also super healthy. Healthy rasam recipe has many variations with different ingredients.
This specific garlic Pepper rasam recipe for cold is very soothing to throat if somebody has cold, cough or throat infection. That is why it not only tastes great but also known as a recipe for the sick. Add rasam to your homemade recipes for throat infection and you will never regret it!
You can drink rasam as a soup or with hot rice and some stir-fried vegetable or poriyal on the side. Add papad to make the meals perfect.
The main ingredients of this pepper garlic rasam include black pepper, garlic, cumin, tomato, and spices. You don’t need any readymade rasam powder for this.
Notes:
You can add some tamarind paste if you prefer. Use small lemon sized tamarind if you are adding.
If you like to make rasam even more watery, then replace tomato with tamarind paste.
If you prefer a thicker rasam then you can add some cooked toor dal (split pigeon peas).
If you like to make it even more spicy, then you can add extra red chillies.
To make rasam spicy, sweet, sour you can add some jaggery or sugar.

Tomato 2
Black pepper 1 tsp
Cumin 1 1/4 tsp
Mustars Seeds 1/4 tsp
Red Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
Turmeric 1/4 tsp
Garlic 4
Curry Leaves 7-8
Whole Red Chilli 1
Asafoetida/Hing 1/8 tsp
Coriander Leaves handful
Salt as per taste
Water 2 cups
Oil 3 tbsp
