Nine killed in Indian-controlled Kashmir police station blast; authorities call it 'accidental'

Описание: A cache of confiscated explosives detonated inside a police station in Indian-controlled Kashmir, killing at least nine people and injuring 32 others, police said on Saturday.

The blast occurred in the Nowgam area of Srinagar, the region’s main city, late Friday when a team of forensic experts and police were examining the explosive material.

The huge blast ripped through the police station, setting it and multiple vehicles on fire.

India's interior ministry said "the cause of the accident is being investigated," as a senior police official said the incident was "accidental."

The blast occurred four days after a deadly car explosion in the Indian capital New Delhi killed at least eight people in what the government has called a terrorist incident.
