After cold air Friday, scattered snow showers will move in Saturday. Snow will turn steady by nightfall and stay heavy through Sunday across Indiana.
Northern Indiana: 3-8 inches
Central Indiana: 6-12 inches
Southern Indiana 10-14+ inches
Expect travel to become difficult, then dangerous, and at times impassable, especially on rural roads. Make sure you have extra travel supplies while driving: extra blankets, hand warmers, shovel, extra batteries, snacks, etc. In case of a crash or a slide-off, you will want extra supplies in your car because of the cold and extreme cold. During the snow we will have temperatures in the single digits and teens with wind chills below zero.
The cold will also prevent from the snow from melt for a while, plus it makes the road treatment less effective.
