3 Rusty Old Blacksmithing Hammers Get A Phenomenal Restoration!

Описание: Welcome to Archeon Restoration! In this week’s project, we tackle the blacksmithing hammer restoration of not one, but three extremely rusty hammers from the 1960s, discovered in the ruins of an abandoned building in rural Bulgaria.

Each hammer had decades of rust and neglect, but through electrolysis, sanding, and mirror polishing, we brought them back to life. The smallest and mid-sized hammers received customized store-bought handles, while the largest hammer was given a hand-carved handle made from a piece of firewood, crafted entirely from scratch using tools, including a hatchet restored in a previous video. This marked my first-ever handmade tool handle.

To top it off, the heaviest hammer now features a hand-etched Norse Valknut symbol on each face—my first attempt at metal etching and a personal milestone in my journey as a restorer. This blacksmithing hammer restoration is one of the most satisfying transformations I’ve ever done.
