I just got the Key West all registered, tuned-up and ready to go!
We headed out of Saint Marks to go scalloping yesterday morning but there was a small craft advisory in effect with 20 knot winds and 3-6' seas; not awesome snorkeling weather, so we caught a baitwell full of live pinfish and headed out to grouper fish over some of the reefs.
The bite wasn't really on fire and the waves were pretty serious but we did manage to put a couple fish in the boat. I caught a slightly undersize gag grouper and Luke caught a small grunt. We had a few others break us off in the rocks.
We passed yet another bunch of clueless Pontoon Yahoos in the channel on the way in. It never fails, we see them out there every trip. This time they anchored in the center of a marked navigation channel, and had divers swimming around the boat with no dive flag up. If I hadn't seen one of them pop their head up at the last moment, we could have easily hit them. I don't know who's renting pontoon boats to these people, but they need to stop for everyone's sake.
If the winds will hold off a little, we'll be back to try again next week.
