What does the new generation think of this 'old' film?

Yes it is still excellent and we both loved it! It's a great concept and flawlessly executed. All the characters stand out as individuals and it's a joy to see them having macho fun. We love the slow build up of Predator's presence and it's final showdown is a great payoff. The music and cinematography support the awesome direction by John McTiernan Arnie in his prime, and may it be too much to say that there will never be films like this made any more? Oh, and it's full of great one liners!

Predator is a 1987 American science fiction action film directed by John McTiernan and written by brothers Jim and John Thomas. Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as Dutch Schaefer, the leader of an elite paramilitary rescue team on a mission to save hostages in guerrilla-held territory in a Central American rainforest, who encounter the deadly Predator (Kevin Peter Hall), a skilled, technologically-advanced extraterrestrial who stalks and hunts them down. Carl Weathers, Elpidia Carrillo, Bill Duke, Richard Chaves, Jesse Ventura, Sonny Landham, and Shane Black are supporting co-stars.
