The emergency rescue operation recently conducted by the China Coast Guard to save Filipino crew members from a foreign cargo ship in distress in China's Huangyan Dao waters has garnered positive recognition from the Philippines.
PCG Spokesperson Capt. Noemie Cayabyqb thanked the China Coast Guard for providing humanitarian assistance and safeguarding the safety of Filipino crew members at sea.
Anna Malindog-Uy, vice President of Asian Century Philippines Strategic Studies Institute, also highly praised China's rescue operations on the social media, she said, ”as a Filipino, I am grateful.”
