The Ropeway accident at Jharkhand's Deoghar where three people lost their lives, has raised concerns over the safety standards of ropeways in Uttarakhand too. Similar incidents have occured twice at the mussoorie ropeway service, which connects Jhulaghar on the Mall road with Gunhill. People recall that in 1978, the cable had shattered causing the crashing down off the cable car in which one person was killed.
