Swisstrax Review! Why Modular Garage Flooring Is SO GOOD

Описание: Time for a Swisstrax review and some thoughts on why modular garage flooring in general is insanely good. It's been about 4 months with Swisstrax installed, which I think is enough time to get an idea of pros and cons plus some tips and advice on planning, prepping and installing Swisstrax in your garage.. or wherever.

A few suggestions if you're considering installing Swisstrax:
use an online designer: https://floordesigner.obsessedgarage....
buy extra tiles; at least several of each color and/or type
make sure you get the correct edge pieces (most likely female looped)
get the right cutting tools

Save time measuring:
1) get 2 tiles; one is the tile you're cutting and the other is a junk tile (note: my junk tile in the thumbnail is pearl silver, which I got for color testing; the tiles to the left are all pearl grey)
2) cut the loops off the junk tile; you'll use this one for all your measurements
3) place your tile to cut on top of the last whole, snapped in tile (make sure it's lined up perfectly and that the loops are oriented in the correct direction)
4) place the junk tile on top of the cut tile and push it to the wall (be careful not to move the cut tile)
5) draw your line on the cut tile underneath; the exposed section of the cut tile is what snaps into place
6) make the cut and snap into place, should be perfect every time

Two things I forgot to note:
1) Swisstrax recommends leaving 1/4" space between the tiles and walls to account for temperature fluctuations. I chose not to do this.. I like the flush look and I've seen enough installs ignoring this where it didn't seem to affect anything. Also I installed mine in the summer, so I'm betting on fluctuation to be minimal.
2) get a set of magnetic wands; if you drop any small hardware between the grooves, that's the easiest way to retrieve them without removing tiles
