Martin D18 vs Martin D18? Old vs New!

Описание: Will we ever get tired of the Martin D18? This timeless guitar has captivated my attention for the last 28 years of playing music. I always knew that I would have a Martin D18.

We have two Martin D18s from different eras. One is from 1973 and the other is from 2018. During these different eras, there were some slight build variations. For instance, the 70's had rosewood fingerboards and bridges, as well as a 1 11/16" nut width. Not a huge deal when it comes to sound, but they did not scallop the braces in the 70's. That made a pretty big difference. When Martin redesigned their standard line in the early 20-teens, they reintroduced ebony fingerboards and bridges, a 1 3/4" nut width, and forward shifted scalloped bracing.

This 73 Martin D18 has had the braces scalloped (check out that video here:    • Martin D18: Did I Just Ruin My Guitar?   ), so hopefully it is a more apples to apples comparison.
