In this video, I’m testing and comparing two brand new APS-C autofocus prime lenses from 7Artisans: the 25mm f/1.8 and the 35mm f/1.8.

Both lenses currently sell for around $125–$129, which puts them firmly in ultra budget territory. Instead of making two separate reviews, I decided to put them side by side in one video. A lot of people struggle with the 25mm vs 35mm decision on APS-C, so the goal here is simple: show you what the real, practical differences look like in actual use.

I’m shooting both outdoors and in the studio, looking at:

Autofocus performance for video and tracking
Subject separation and background compression
Rendering, sharpness, and edge performance
Bokeh behavior and stress tests
Chromatic aberration, including longitudinal CA
Vignetting at wide apertures
Manual focus behavior, including a small issue I ran into

Both lenses share a very similar design and overall rendering style, which makes this a useful comparison if you’re thinking about building a small, affordable prime set for APS-C cameras.
