This lecture is part of an online algebraic geometry course on schemes, based on chapter II of "Algebraic geometry" by Hartshorne.
We prove Grothendieck's theorem that all vector bundles over the projective line are sums of line bundles, and compare the category of vector bundles with the category of representations of the circle group.
