Big White | Bullet Express

Описание: Big White's main face above the current Village Centre was the first section of the resort when it first opened in 1963. It was served by Main T-Bar, and didn't have any chairs until 1977, when Easter Chair was installed. This new lift started a little ways east of the T-Bar, and served terrain more eastward, with its top terminal much lower. In 1980, a lift known as Village Chair replaced the majority of the T-Bar's lift line, with it being shortened to just the upper section. Village Chair was renamed to Summit Chair when another chair of the same name was installed to serve the village, bringing access to Summit Chair. The upper part of Main T-Bar was replaced in 1987 with a new T-Bar in a new alignment starting lower, and ending higher up on the mountain. This lift was called and currently known as Alpine T-Bar. Everything changed for Big White, as the technology of high-speed chairs had begun taking off around the North American ski industry. Now, Big White would get their hands on the technology, with the installation of a high-speed chair in 1989. Noting how fast it could travel, it was named Bullet Express, and it replaced Summit Chair and Village Chair, starting near the old Village Chair, and ending a little ways above the removed Easter Chair, at the top of the ridge.

Bullet Express is a Doppelmayr high-speed quad. It uses UNI terminals, ej chairs, and DS-104 detachable grips.The lift is bottom driven, and uses a compact fixed return terminal up top. The lift serves beginner and intermediate terrain, and provides access to The Cliff via traverse. The comm line for the lift originally was routed underground after Tower 14 for the alpine section of the lift, but for recent upgrades, it now stays on the towers for the full lift line. Bullet Express now sits as one of the oldest lifts on the mountain, being the oldest high-speed lift at 36 years old as of 2025.
