An overview of the Alpe Adria route from Salzburg to Udine. This edit is meant to give a good impression of the full route. Because of that, it is long. I know. Feel free to scan to marked highlights as you see fit.
This ride was done in 3 days. Salzburg to Schwartzach on the first day. Day two continued with riding back to Bischofshofen for the bus to Spittal. Then riding to Villach and a train to Tarvisio. On day three, the magnificent rail trail down into Italy finishing in Udine for a series of trains and a bus back to Salzburg.
Note: The full route continues to Grado, but I didn't ride that part. Due to tunnel work, I also missed part of the middle section as I got around it by bus for a total of about 230km vs 415km
