See Haines, Alaska from a Ravenʼs point of view...up high. Haines was originally a Tlingit village called deishú, which means "the end of the trail." Later, the US government wanted it because it was one of the gateways to the Gold Rush.
Now, it is a cruise ship destination and one of the roadways that heads into the Alaskan Highway through Canada. It is also, a popular place to fish for salmon in the Chilkoot river and to see bears.
This video looks at the downtown area and the historic Fort Seward which was finished in 1904.
