Roughing out an Obsidian Conical Blade Core at Çatalhöyük

Описание: I took a raw nodule of obsidian from East Göllü Dağ, Cappadocia, Turkey and turned it into a rough preform for a conical blade core. There was a lot of rough material and some cortex on the exterior so I had to lose quite a bit of it in the process. This core shaping work was mostly done at the obsidian sources, with the core preform being imported to Neolithic Çatalhöyük at roughly the stage I left it at the end of this video. In the next one I will demonstrate how to remove blades using an indirect percussion technique, so stay tuned tomorrow. Thanks for watching, cheers.
