Video Production Process:
This edit was built around the contrast between what we had and what we lost. Every clip transition is timed to the beat of Hometown, switching between moments where X was alive and surrounded by the people who loved him and moments after he was gone where those same people are broken. The color grading shifts between warm tones for the 2017 clips and colder muted tones for 2018 and after. Emoji overlays mark each transition to give the viewer an emotional anchor as the timeline moves forward. The whole thing is meant to sit heavy in your chest and remind you that the loss was real for everyone around him.
