Why Superstore Felt More Alive Than Most Sitcoms

Описание: Most sitcoms use background characters to fill space. Superstore turned them into one of the show's greatest strengths.

Whether it was customers treating display toilets like real bathrooms, walking into fake aisles, or employees like Myrtle stealing scenes with unforgettable background gags, Cloud 9 always felt like a real place filled with real people. Every frame of Superstore had something happening, rewarding viewers who paid attention.

By making the world around Amy, Jonah, and the rest of the cast feel just as important as the main story, Superstore accomplished something few sitcoms ever do, it made its setting feel like a living, breathing character.
