This topic video looks at Shoreditch in the east end of London and how it has transformed over the years, from an industrial area with high levels of poverty, to a vibrant culture and media hub which has experienced the process of gentrification in recent years, along with the pros and cons of this. It also looks at how this area has been shaped by migration, and in particular how the neighbourhood is known as 'Banglatown' as it is home to the largest Bengali population in the UK. This is part of the UK city study.
