📌 SYNOPSYS:
Amidst a misty city, where winding roads hide beneath ancient pine trees and yellow streetlights flicker across the damp sidewalks, Việt — a young artist learning how to forget — stumbles upon a small homestay tucked into the hillside, seeking to heal himself. He arrives carrying a heart speckled with scars, the weight of old sorrows, and the disorientation of someone left behind without a single goodbye.

What seemed like just a temporary stop turns into something more when Việt meets Dũng — the quiet, seemingly cold-hearted but deeply warm homestay owner who patiently cooks every morning, shoulders family duties every evening, and silently keeps the small jingle bell that Việt had left behind in an attempt to forget someone from his past — as if to wordlessly say: “Let me hold on to something of yours.” Dũng, full of dreams deferred and questions unanswered, ends up falling for Việt — someone he met by chance during a drunken encounter.
Dalat never rushes. And love in Dalat is no different.

Through warm meals, sudden showers, and early mornings chasing clouds, Việt gradually lets go of his sorrow — a sorrow named Duy, the ex who abandoned him without explanation. Dũng, who had always lived in silence to meet his family’s expectations, for the first time dares to stand up to his older brother — to fight for what he now believes is “his own life” after falling for Việt like a heartbeat.

But it’s not just about them. That little homestay is where other fragile lives also brush gently against one another — like Nhung and Ngọc Anh, two women who seem opposite at first glance, yet share their deepest thoughts, tie each other’s hair, split a slice of cake, and have that one moment where their eyes meet and something stirs. They don’t need to define their bond. A single look is enough to know they are seen, understood, and loved.

All of these love stories are gently stitched together by Grandma Thái — Dũng’s grandmother, who despite her age, is a devoted fan of boylove and girllove. Her subtle matchmaking and the warm meals she prepares fan the flames of romance amidst the chilly air of Dalat.

The love story between Dũng and Việt isn’t always smooth. There were moments when their hands, once tightly held, had to let go — especially when Trung, Dũng’s older brother, reappears. Tears, misunderstandings, and even life-threatening events test their bond. But true love, when deep enough, always finds its way back. Like the little jingle bell Việt tried to leave behind — Dũng clings to it for one reason alone: he loves everything about Việt, from the painful past to the uncertain present, even if Việt forgets who he is.

Like the ending of an unfinished love letter, their brush with death doesn’t take anyone’s life — but it does separate them. Dũng is left in the dark, grieving being forgotten, while Việt is only left with the warmth in his chest, as the faint sound of a jingle bell rings somewhere close — hauntingly familiar, yet painfully distant.
In this story, Dalat is more than just a setting for love.
