From Piazza del Campidoglio, you can discover two breathtaking viewpoints and walk along an ancient Roman road.

✨ First Viewpoint:
Walk toward the stairs as if leaving the square. Before reaching the staircase, turn left (see red arrow in the video) and continue through the archway. You'll find a quiet garden in Piazzale Caffarelli, offering a serene view of Rome without the crowds. Enjoy sights like the Vittorio Emanuele II Monument and Teatro Marcello, where the old and new parts of the city blend beautifully.

✨ Second Viewpoint:
Return to the main square and walk left, passing the column with the she-wolf statue. Head down the stairs to admire the impressive Arch of Septimius Severus and the Roman Forum.

🏺 History of the Arch of Septimius Severus:
Romans loved arches, symbolizing their victories. This arch, dedicated in 200 AD, originally bore the names of Emperor Septimius Severus and his sons, Caracalla and Geta. However, history took a tragic turn—Caracalla had Geta’s name erased after murdering him to secure sole power. He replaced it with the phrase Optimis Fortissimisque Principibus ("to the best and bravest of princes").
