While police investigations continue, there are many unanswered questions tonight surrounding the death of the man at the centre of multi-million rand Bosasa corruption allegations. Bosasa, now African Global Operations, CEO Gavin Watson was killed in a car crash near OR Tambo International Airport this morning. Watson's death comes shortly before he was due to appear before SARS on a tax inquiry. Months ago, Watson was fingered as the head honcho by his former COO, Angelo Agrizzi at the state capture commission, as being behind wide-scale corruption, including bribes for government tenders.
The company is also linked to a R500 000 donation made to President Cyril Ramaphosa's - CR17 - ANC election campaign.
