Looking back through old footage of the BMW R1150GS build, I remembered I documented the process of diagnosing why it wouldn't start, including the repair I carried out to fix it. I no longer have the bike and projects have come and gone, but I thought this might be useful for some people.
In this video, you can see how I made the fix. The ignition cable loom from the barrel can sometimes fail and cause the bike not to power up and start when the key is turned. Symptoms include when the ignition is turned on, no lights on the dash, or intermittent powering up when the handlebars are turned due to a broken connection in the loom.
Hope it helps anyone to diagnose and solve any similar issues they are experiencing.
