Описание: This was the first or second appearance of Carl Cox at the Tunnel and in Hamburg ever, ever. Looking back now, this was a kind of strange phase with lots of Trance and Hardtrance played by him. But also some proper Techno. CAREFUL! The music gets louder after about 30 seconds.

This is to preserve and support nearly forgotten music and artists.

I am not a 100 % sure, but I think (among other things because of the way he is mixing, especially in the beginning) this recording is from the very first visit of Carl Cox at the Tunnel Club in Hamburg.

If so, then this was the night when I had to find a hotel for Carl WHILE him and me were sitting in the taxi after I picked him up from the airport, going straight to the club, which he wasn't aware of until he started asking (when we were already only 5 minutes away from the club) where his hotel would be. :/
Remember, this was the time without smartphones (and nearly nobody had one of those oversized and money robbing mobile phones yet), g oogle maps and so on.

This was incredibly embarassing for me, because the club owner's plan actually was to bring Carl directly to the club and convince him to sleep in the club owner's flat (together with him)... Okay, he had a flat with an additional bedroom, but come on, we never even met him before and he just didn't understand (yet) that Carl already was a ladies and gentlemen magnet (meaning sold out clubs) and not some hippie playing for a blunt.

Fortunately one hotel nearby (of course, more expensive than if we had booked it some days before) had a free room and I was finally „allowed“ (by the club owner) to book it for Carl.
After this very succesful night, the club owner was convinced and he insisted on personally picking up Carl from the airport on the next date...

Don't forget: Those were the times of pure vinyl mixing, without „cue points“ or „sync buttons“, no need for an „awareness team“, no „Tiki“ code word, no concrete bollards around christmas markets (which were called just t h a t) and block parties and without a lot of other crap we have to deal with now... Welcome!
