Horizontal gaze eyes movement is controlled by supranuclear and infranuclear pathyway the horizontal gaze eyes movement control by 2 central points, frontal lobe and PGC. The horizontal gaze eyes movement is an voluntary eyes movement.
In this video we will discuss the neuroanatomy of the horizontal gaze eyes movement, their supra- and infranuclear pathway, and of course their clinical correlations.
Clinical correlation will cover.
1. Abducen nerve lesion
2. Abducen nucleus lesion
3. Internuclear opthalmoplegia (MLF lesion)
4. Frontal lobe lesion
All of the above lesions will impact horizontal gaze eyes movement, the pantient will complain of diplopia, facial weakness, or upper extremity weakness.
