Dark, cold and dangerous – is it true that our deepest oceans are as unexplored as the moon? And are there monsters? Or is it a magical place of grandeur and serenity? Find out from one of the few humans who has dived the Earth’s five oceans to their deepest points, including 11km down in the Mariana Trench.
Professor Alan Jamieson is the founding Director of the Minderoo-UWA Deep Sea Research Centre at the University of Western Australia. His research is focused on the deepest places in our oceans. He was the first British person to dive below 6km and at that time the 8th deepest diving person in history.
