In this traditional village-style recipe, Panasa Thonalu are combined with maida and a few authentic traditional ingredients to form a soft, smooth dough. The dough is carefully shaped to resemble the natural Panasa Thonalu / karela-like shape, maintaining its rustic village appearance.
These shaped Panasa Thonalu sweets are deep-fried in oil until they turn perfectly golden and crispy. Immediately after frying, they are dipped into a hot aromatic sugar syrup infused with cardamom (elaichi) and other traditional flavors. This method gives the sweet a soft and juicy texture inside, a light crisp outside, and a rich, mouth-watering authentic village-style sweetness.
This recipe reflects the true essence of old Telugu traditional sweets and palleturu cooking, bringing back the taste of forgotten village food.
