Microsoft Office 95 On VMware Player 16

Описание: Microsoft Office was updated to the new Windows release. Through the 80's, MS was playing catchup to the likes of Lotus 123 and WordPerfect. Those heavyweights dominated the productivity landscape on DOS. Yet, when the GUI transition from DOS to Windows 3.1 began (starting with Win3.0), Microsoft was in a much more prominent position. Microsoft Word became the dominate word-processor on Windows. Excel became much more widespread as well. Originally released on the Macintosh, the first Windows release of Excel was in 1987-1988 for Win2.x. However, DOS was still king and Excel wouldn't see its day until being updated for Windows 3.0. However, even on Windows (early on though), both Word and Excel faced intense competition from the likes of Lotus's Ami-Pro and the Windows release of WordPerfect. However, by the middle 90's, both products dominated the productivity landscape. Access and PowerPoint were become respective in there fields as well.

Ironic though that Microsoft was caught off guard when Lotus bundled Ami-Pro, 123, Approach, and Freelance Graphics together into what would be the first office suite, Lotus SmartSuite, which included the complete programs together in a single package. Microsoft would do the same with Office. With the release of Windows 95, Office would be updated to take advantage of the new UI. Thus, Office would remain the giant in the productivity software realm.

VMware Player 16 is virtualizing a multimedia PC with a single core processor allocated (host processor is a AMD FX-4300 Quad-Core CPU running at 3.8GHz). There is 64MB's of RAM allocated. Also included is a SVGA/VESA Compatible display adapter, a emulated Creative Labs SoundBlaster 16, along with a AMD PCNET Ethernet Adapter. Windows 95 OSR2 is installed. Windows is running at the screen resolution of 1024 by 768, 16-bit (65,5536 Colors) Depth.
