They Told Us to Avoid This Neighbourhood - We Went Anyway

Описание: Today we're heading up into Laventille, an area with probably one of the worst reputations in all of Trinidad & Tobago.

You mention Laventille to people and they'll tell you to stay the heck away from there.

Now I'm not saying this place is a paradise and I'm not saying bad things don't happen there.

I don't however think it's fair to tarnish everyone with the same brush so off we went into the hills of one of Trinidad's dodgiest neighbourhoods.

Things started off pretty sketchy... Inside however we were met with hospitality, some of the best views over the whole of Trinidad and the whole morning was pretty much spent liming with the people who call Laventille home.

Now we had survived Trinidad's dodgiest neighbourhood, but could we survive Trinidad's spiciest doubles?

We jumped on the bus to chatterbox doubles, a place I'd heard makes some of the spiciest sauce in the country. The owner Shaun here was so bloody nice, If you're in the area go show him some love. I can also definitely confirm, the food here is flipping spicy ahah.

After having a mental breakdown due to the super hot chillis burning my empty stomach we hit up a Trinidadian gambling shop, bought 2 cigarettes from a hole in the wall then hit up a local bar to end an eventful day.

Yeah bad stuff happens here in Trinidad, but this country is much more than all that.
