Hi, I'm Matt with etrailer. If you're looking for a really easy way to get your chains on your tires, especially if you do have some kind of bad knees and you can't really kneel on the ground, or if you don't wanna kneel on the ground or in that snow, then the Konig Easy Fit Tire Chains is gonna be a great option for you. That's gonna be on our 2024 Hyundai Kona, and our tire size is gonna be 215/60R17. Now, it will fit a variety of different sizes, that's just the size we have today. If you're not sure if this is gonna be an option for you, you can actually put in your vehicle's information into our fit guide to find the correct fit for you. We're also gonna have this on our front axle, it's what the manual recommends.
So let's check it out. These chains are gonna be more ideal for those moderate snow and ice conditions, and that's gonna be because the style of chain we have. This is gonna be a square link chain. And what that's doing for us is we have this hard edge to them. That hard edge is what's giving us that extra bite through ice and snow.
These are also gonna be constructed from a nickel or manganese nickel alloy. And what that means is while they are very durable chains, they're also gonna be very weather resistant, so they're gonna last you a long time, because they're gonna be less likely to rust. And then if you noticed here in the center too, we're gonna have this pretty beefy part of the chain. That's what connects both sides of this chain to each other, but it's also gonna act as a little bit of extra traction from when we're driving, 'cause this is pretty beefy, and it will bite through ice and snow. With that being said, it still sits pretty low profile, and these chains are actually gonna be Class S chains.
So what that means is it just be plenty of room to sit underneath your suspension. Along with that, we're gonna have a diamond pattern to these chains. And what a diamond pattern does is give us more coverage on our tire. And since you have more coverage on the tire, you're ultimately gonna get more traction. This is gonna be great too for when you're making those turns.
And here in the center is what really separates these chains from the competition, it is this easy self-tensioning device. 'Cause what's really nice is, a lot of chains, you usually have to pull a cable or make a connection. Here, you're just pulling down a lever. And if you don't have a lot of strength or power behind you really pushing down, you can actually use your foot with this too. The second thing that's nice about that device is it's a self-tensioning device, which is really great, because when you're driving down the road, a lot of times, your chains are gonna shift. And once they shift, they're probably gonna loosen up. So what this is gonna be doing is constantly applying tension or pressure to your chains, so if they do loosen, it's gonna still stay tight on the tire. But also it will come two to a set in this pretty nice container. Now, it is a little bit wide and long, but it's pretty flat, so storing it in the back of your Kona shouldn't be too much of a hassle. And what's nice is this also doubles as a point to kneel down on. So a lot of times, you don't wanna kneel down in the snow, and that's fine, that's pretty relatable. So you have this which is water resistant, so when you're kneeling down in it, you're not gonna be getting wet from the snow. And then you can also reference your instructions, because it's actually built on this container. Now, in my opinion, I think this is a really good option, if, like I was talking about earlier, if you don't wanna kneel down and get into snow or your knees just can't really handle that much pressure from being down here, 'cause this whole time, I've been down here, and my knees don't feel great from doing this. So these are really nice too, because if you really needed to, I could install these just standing up and bending over. So it's nice to have that option. But if you really don't fall into either one of those categories, this is a pretty premium tire chain at the end of the day, and it can be kinda costly. So if you don't really fall into those other categories, I recommend a different Konig choice, and that's just gonna be the Konig Self-Tensioning Tire Chains. You're still gonna get the benefit of that self-tensioning de
