The Racer is a wooden racing roller coaster designed by legendary coaster guru John C Allen. Following several decades where hardly any new wooden coasters were built, the Racer is possibly the one ride that inspired the resurgence of wooden roller coasters from the early 1970s to modern times. It opened in 1972 at Kings Island, Ohio. Video features a complete front seat POV on the red train, filmed with Pivothead sunglasses (cameras are not permitted on the rides).
