Today, as the 'second quantum revolution' starts to gain momentum, HQI brings together scientists and engineers across sectors - universities, companies, and government - to leverage quantum effects such as superposition and entanglement in ways that will profoundly impact the way information is acquired, stored, sent, and processed. The ability to measure, engineer, and control matter at the single-atom level presents unlimited opportunities to transform ideas into radically different technologies that could change the way we live for the better.
HQI exists to foster and grow a strong community of students, faculty, and inventors, both locally and nationwide, that will lead the emerging field of Quantum Science and Engineering. In addition to integrating research efforts and encouraging cross-sector collaboration, HQI also hosts one of the world’s first PhD programs in QSE, providing the foundational education for the next generation of innovators.
