Are you struggling with wheel spin or inconsistent 60-foot times? Today we’re unboxing and installing the MSD 8733 2-Step Launch Control on our LS build. This is the gold standard for LS staging, compatible with both 24x and 58x reluctor wheels.
In this video, we show you the splice-free installation using factory-style coil connectors and demonstrate how to set your launch RPM using the dual rotary dials. We also cover the activation wiring—whether you want to trigger it via a clutch switch, a trans-brake, or a simple momentary button. Watch until the end to hear those signature 2-step "pops" as we test the limiter at 3,500 RPM!
🎬 Key Features & Specs:
Plug-and-Play Connectors: Installs inline with your factory coil pack harnesses. No cutting or splicing of the primary ignition wires is required.
Broad LS Compatibility: Fits almost all LS-based engines (4.8L, 5.3L, 5.7L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 7.0L) using coil-per-cylinder ignitions. (Note: Not compatible with LSA/LS9 factory supercharged coil harnesses).
Dual Rotary Dials: Easily adjust your launch RPM in 100-RPM increments, ranging from 1,000 to 10,900 RPM.
Built-in LED Indicator: A bright visual cue on the module tells you exactly when the launch limit is active.
Versatile Activation: Can be triggered by either a 12V source (White/Blue wire) or a Ground (Blue wire), making it compatible with almost any switch setup.
RPM Drop Circuit: Intelligent logic prevents the limiter from accidentally activating during gear shifts; the RPM must drop significantly to re-arm the system.
Digital Accuracy: Provides a much cleaner, consistent "stutter" than old-school analog limiters, protecting your engine while maximizing launch torque.
