London and Warsaw, 1980. London and Leipzig, 1997. Where now? Recalling experiences in Poland and East Germany many years later, Dark Light questions idealised imaginings of life in other places, times and political systems. Narrated by John Smith, Dark Light questions rose-tinted imaginings of life in countries that we have limited experience of. It also expresses the disillusionment that results when changes in governments and systems fail to fulfil our hopes for the future.
