A Russian oil tanker bound for China has reportedly rerouted toward India while in the South China Sea. The vessel, an Aframax tanker named 'Aqua Titan' carrying Urals crude, performed a U-turn mid-voyage and is now expected to arrive at the New Mangalore Port on March 21. This diversion follows reports that India has significantly increased its crude oil imports from Moscow to offset supply disruptions caused by the ongoing war in the Middle East. According to maritime intelligence, at least seven such tankers have switched their destinations from China to India recently, especially after a temporary waiver allowed Indian refiners to secure cargoes already at sea
