Dr Aruna Uprety is a dedicated public health specialist and passionate advocate for women's rights. With extensive work experience in countries like Afghanistan, Iran, India, Laos, China, Sri Lanka and Sudan, she has gained valuable insights into the challenges of malnutrition among children, particularly in rural Nepal. Through her research and advocacy efforts, Aruna has highlighted the underlying reasons for malnutrition and proposed effective strategies to address this pressing issue.
She recognises the importance of local food, cultural practices, and healthy lifestyles in promoting overall well-being. Dr Aruna’s contributions extend beyond academia, as she actively shares her expertise through articles and presentations at national and international forums. She studied in Hague, Netherlands and also Ukraine and came back Nepal for the good. After travelling the world, she sees lot of gaps as well as the potential for change in Nepal, and is actively engaged in fulfilling those gaps.
