This is an overview of the use of screening and identification instruments in the last 25 years, from a time when colorless laboratory-grown Diamonds (LGD) were rare, until now, with an industrywide shift towards LGD. The lecture includes images of growers, crystals, and statistics on the production and cutting of Diamonds at factories in India (the largest manufacturer of CVD Diamonds), which the author visited.
