Here's a montage of promos, legal IDs, and a newsbreak from CBS' newly minted independent station in San Francisco, California. All of these were recorded on their last official day with The CW, Thursday, August 31, 2023. By then, most, if not all, KBCW references had already been purged from the station.

The following day, the KBCW call letters were replaced, which makes sense as CBS is looking to completely sever ties with The CW in any way. While they should have, in my opinion, brought back the original KBHK letters, the station's new call letters will actually be KPYX, as a brand extension of long time sister station KPIX. This is reflected in the "PIX+" brand.

Nexstar's KRON, previously independent, replaces KBCW as the new CW affiliate for the market.

KPYX replaces CW programs with two hours of news at 8 and 9pm. KRON previously did news in those timeslots and had aired a 9pm news since it lost NBC in 2002 and an 8pm news since 2011. So essentially, the two stations swapped programming, with KPIX continuing to offer 8 and 9pm newscasts for the market in that timeslot. The 10pm NOW newscast that's now been canceled has been replaced with "The Big Bang Theory" at 10pm and "Young Sheldon" at 10.30.
