Day 6 of our vacation out west started in Alberta Canada at Waterton Lakes. I hiked up Bear's Hump, just across the street from the Prince of Wales Hotel. I continued to scramble a ways to tremendous views until the going got too sketchy for my tastes. Waterton Lakes has two scenic out-and-back drives and we explored both. The first led us to the very beautiful Cameron Lake where we rented a paddleboat for a tiring adventure on the windy water. Then we made a quick stop at Red Rock Canyon which was packed with people enjoying the nearly 90°F day.
After that it was a longer drive back into the United States and along the Going-to-the-Sun Road. We arrived at Logan Pass around 4 PM and now there was parking available so we stopped to explore. I set off to hike the to the Hidden Lake overlook while the girls hung out at Logan Pass. Then yet more driving as we returned to the hotel at Whitefish for two more nights.
