Silicone rubber is sought after as a production material as it is generally non-reactive, stable, and resistant to extremes. As a kind of rubber, it can be molded into many shapes and so we see it used in all kinds of applications and products.

Tubes used for wiring
O-rings & seals
Molded custom shapes and designs, such as a muffin trays
Apparel
Electronics

Silicone rubber is a very adhesive gel until it is somehow 'cured,' 'vulcanized,' or 'catalyzed' using different processes, which is when it will take on a solid state. It may also be injection molded to achieve that, too.

We'll also look at some key areas where silicone rubber is superior to organic rubber at extreme temperatures, such as:
Elongation
Creep
Cyclic flexing
Tear strength
Fire resistance
Tensile strength

We go on to explore the special grades of silicone rubber, including hardness levels and different resistance types.
