In today’s video, i’m excited to share with you the complete cost of wood estimate for a roofing project*. This estimate is for a *7 bedroom house & you can also compare it with your builder’s estimate so that you don’t get cheated.


This project is a 7 bedroom house & the roofing style i optioned for is the “One Side” hidden roofing style which is cost less & efficient and very effective when done properly. I will share with you the complete cost of roofing this project in coming episode in which you may find the complete cost of roofing this house which consists of the wood works, the coping works and the sheet works so kindly stay tune for that.

*I saved 3,000 GHS By using this method of reduction which saved me a lot from high cost of purchase & i top up the difference to pay for the carpenters workmanship * So this method is really going to help you, & i’m sure if you have a bigger project you would save more than 10,000GHS - 30,000 GHS Upwards.


Below is the Estimates for the cost of wood Estimate for this 7 bedroom house project. This estimate includes everything about the wood structural works ONLY excluding workmanship; I used few tricks to reduce 20% cost in my wood estimate so kindly watch till the end of this video to better understand this Estimate very well.

The 2x4 & the 2x3 you find in this estimate “was not bought separately”. It was deducted from the 2x6 that’s why there’s no amount written behind it because i did not buy them separately.

Wood Estimate:
2X6 Essah (70 PCS) X 110 GHS = 7,700 GHS
2x4 (60 PCS)
2x3 (60 PCS)
2X2 Ote3 (175 PCS) X 40 GHS = 7120 GHS GHS
Wood Cutting : 180 GHS (3 Cedis Per Cut)
Facial Board (Fr3moo) : 4PCS X 200 GHS = 800 GHS
Nails : 4” (10 Box X70 GHS ) = 700
Nails : 3” (5 Box X 65 GHS) = 325
1/4 Iron Rod (Smooth) 8PCS X 18GHS = 144 GHS
Wood Primer : 180 GHS
Turpentine : 120 GHS
Roller : 15 Cedis
Sunpyrifos : 2 Bottles (250 GHS)
Goro Boys : 200 GHS

Total (Materials ONLY) : 17,734 GHS

Transportation : 500 GHS

GROSS : 18,234 GHS

IMPORTANT! :

In the 2x2 estimate, the total was supposed to be 7,000 GHS for the 175 PCS of the Otie3 wood which cost 40 GHS per single (175X40= 7,000 GHS)*, but it shows *7,120 GHS*. This is because the woman was not having the type of 2X2 (Otie) i want and before that she had already took the money for the Cindrella wood that i rejected. so what happened was she went to a different vendor to get them for me but unfortunately she did not get all the *175 PCS but rather she got 151 PCS which a single was sold at 40 GHS making a total of 6,040 GHS so she had to balance me 24 PCS of the Cindreilla wood which a single cost 45 GHS making a total of 1,080 GHS*. So adding *6,040 + 1,080 =7,120 GHS
