The Painful Journey of Joyland

Описание: To end this year's final video I wanted to express my thoughts on the films that released throughout that time, the ones that I liked and the ones that disappointed me. The former, unfortunately, were quite scarce and even the ones which impressed me weren't without their fair share of issues or downfalls, however there were certain titles which tried to tackle something different in respect to it's context.
Which was mainly achieved by the Eastern hemisphere, Asian films dominated the world film industry in areas where it actually counts, the most prominent being the Pakistani drama film, Joyland. Originally that film much like others premiered in various film festivals in the previous year or at best had limited release in only certain countries, hence I decided to count them under this year's output.
Such is the case of Joyland, which gained international acclaim by receiving various accolades in the aforementioned film festivals, although it didn't receive a lot of recognition in any major award shows.
But it surely created a buzz and hopefully a change in the mindset of the populace where the film originated from, it offers a challenging experience and leaves the viewers with lots of hard hitting queries. However from those only can we grow as a collective and change for the better and that is the exact attempt of this video, it deeply affected me in ways that only select films can, and I hope it does the same for anyone watching.
