I'm turning 42 in a few days and i have no secure job situation, no partner, no real obligations and life is not providing any clear trajectory. We often talk about “not knowing” in spiritual terms — as if it’s a peaceful state found in meditation. But in real life, not knowing can feel much more raw.
In this episode, I reflect on a phase of life with less external structure — fewer defined roles, no clear trajectory — and how that reveals something deeper: not knowing isn’t a mistake to fix. It’s the ground of being alive.
We can be competent, professional, and still admit that ultimately we don’t know what we’re doing in the larger sense of existence. Maybe adulthood isn’t about pretending certainty, but about participating honestly in uncertainty.
