#SpiderMan in the MCU is important because his storyline is tangled with the MCU so removing him would cause some holes in the timeline as we head into Phase 4 and beyond. Losing Spidey at any time would have been a blow to the cinematic universe. He was the most relatable hero to the reader (teenage biy with powers). Add in his origin, in which he learns that with great power comes great responsibility, and that's why he represents the "best of us".
