The Big 5: Building Phonics and Decoding Skills

Описание: The second webinar focuses on developing strong foundational skills in phonics and decoding, exploring how a systematic and multisensory approach to phonics instruction can reach all learners. We will demonstrate how to help students connect sounds to symbols and recognize spelling patterns while providing valuable resources to support. Our guest speaker, Lauren Gibbs, has an M.S. in Education with a Certificate in Teaching Reading, Multiple Subject Credential and has taught in multiple grade levels in a variety of learning scenarios – virtual, home-school and the traditional classroom. Her unique experience as a reading intervention specialist and pursuing a certificate in trauma healing, brings compassion to young learners and those struggling to read in higher grade levels. Lauren will be joined by our co-host, Janet Pedrazzi, a Kindergarten teacher with more than 20 years of experience grounded in the science of reading, an M.S in Elementary Education and Reading, a current doctoral student in Educational Leadership and the Director of Academic Content for Lexplore, Inc.
